HB17, Wakey Leaks, and more

Happy Monday, everyone! I don’t know about you, but I’m counting down the days until I leave to go home for Christmas. I’m so ready to see my family, my dogs, and to not be working. Here’s to hoping you all get some decent time off beginning this week. In the meantime, here’s this week’s Twitter Roundup featuring HB17, Wakey Leaks, and more.

On McCrory Doing Stupid Things: The NCGOP met one last time to settle the aftermath from “Hurricane Matthew.” Instead, House Bill 17 was passed – limiting Roy Cooper’s power before he even steps into office on January 1. I am EXTREMELY over Pat’s existence. Fire his ass into the sun.

On the Wake Forest Leaks: Here’s the deal on this one: A former Wake Forest player turned grad assistant turned Deacs radio announcer was fired over the past week for essentially giving away Wake’s game plans to several other teams throughout the past two years. The dude had access to the locker room, facilities, and plenty of other inside access. Looks like someone was mad they were never hired as a coach.

LOL Tweets of the Week:

On the Passing of Craig Sager: Next time I make a toast, it’s going to be to the fact that 2016 is less than two weeks away from being over. Craig Sager, legendary sports broadcaster and Hall of Famer, passed away at 65 from leukemia, and all of the United States felt it.

New Emojis: With the newest iOS update, more than 100 emojis were released. As a millennial, I am obviously SUPER hyped up about this. We now have bacon, an avocado, weird Chinese lanterns, and most importantly, THE FACE PALM AND SHRUG (both so relevant to my life).

On Triangle Basketball: Both the Tar Heels and Wolfpack played over the weekend. The Pack won. The Heels did not. However, the #7-ranked Heels played #4 Kentucky in a close game, only to lose after a 3-pointer with roughly 20 seconds left. And all of the Tar Heels relived horrible memories. The Pack played Fairfield State (whoever that is), and won handedly. Duke plays tonight.
