In a special ceremony at city hall, the Raleigh police department proudly announced that they had located a patron at the North Carolina State Fair who was not listed on the sex offender registry.
Peter Edward Blair, age 28, of Garner, was attending the Fair alone on Thursday afternoon. Police detained him and questioned him. In a shocking development, he appeared to be on the premises to enjoy the fair.
“As far as we can tell, he was there to play games, eat food and watch some entertainment,” a police spokesman said.
The police confirmed that they’d debugged the offender registry database to rule out the possibility that it had been hacked.
A police spokesperson also confirmed that the department had looked into the possibility of adding Blair to the registry. “Apparently, attending the fair alone, while weird, is not in and of itself a sex offense.”
